By Milan Perera  Thursday Feb 6, 2025

Award-winning law firm, Barcan+Kirby, has strengthened and expanded its corporate + commercial department with the appointment of their first-ever legal director, Nic Barker.

Nic is a corporate solicitor and specialises in corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A) with a focus on owner-managed businesses.

Nic originally trained and worked in London as a solicitor before taking time out of the law to run her own business. She returned to Bristol in 2019 to work as a finance and corporate Lawyer.

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

Nic will work from the firm’s Bristol city centre office alongside partners Georgina Bryant and Robert Davenport. The team has doubled in the last year due to growth, and with Nic’s expertise, the firm is looking forward to the future.

Nic said: “I am looking forward to working with the team at Barcan+Kirby and getting to know the firm’s clients and their businesses. There is a great team spirit, and I am sure we will go from strength to strength!”

The legal director role recognises Nic’s excellent level of skill and breadth of experience as a senior corporate lawyer advising in the mid-market space.
