Barclays’ Eagle Labs opens at Engine Shed
Barclays’ Eagle Labs has expanded its reach to Bristol with the official opening of its 37th location at Engine Shed, the University of Bristol’s innovation hub situated next to Temple Meads station. This move aims to bolster the innovation ecosystem in the West of England by providing startups and entrepreneurs with crucial resources and networking opportunities.
The new Bristol Eagle Labs will serve as a dynamic space offering business expertise, banking services, and mentoring from scale-up specialists. Members will also benefit from connections with like minded entrepreneurs, local organisations, universities, industry bodies, and potential clients and investors across the country.
Jack Jordan-Connelly has been appointed as the Eagle Labs’ ecosystem manager for Bristol and will be based at Engine Shed. With extensive experience in the regional tech sector, including roles at SETsquared Bristol, cybersecurity startup Immersive Labs, and tech consultancy Tech Scale, Jack is well positioned to support and connect members with Eagle Labs’ network and resources.
Amanda Allan, director at Barclays Eagle Labs, expressed excitement about the new Bristol location and welcomed Jack onboard, emphasising the goal of providing startups and scale-ups with the necessary support to thrive and expand their networks.
Engine Shed’s director, Mike Paton, highlighted the significance of the partnership with Barclays Eagle Labs in accelerating innovation and sustainable economic growth in the region. Supported by the UK Government, Eagle Labs offer a comprehensive suite of services that complement Engine Shed’s existing portfolio, ultimately benefiting founders and businesses in the region.
