Boomsatsuma College students achieve outstanding results

By Bristol24/7  Friday Aug 18, 2023

Boomsatsuma has turned traditional education on its head, putting the students at the centre of their teaching methods. There is a strong focus on helping students find their individual creative voice, with small class sizes enabling students to follow their individual passion.

Progression has been extremely strong, with over 90% of students already securing their future pathways. Many are graduating into career pathways with entry level industry roles and onto apprenticeships. Others have been successful in being accepted by the most competitive University courses for Film, including our own Filmmaking Production and Post-Production courses.

A delighted Luke Fazackerley, boomsatsuma College Lead, states:

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

“It’s a real testament to this fabulous group of students and the teaching team that 100% of our students have passed with at least a Merit, especially given that we draw from the often-marginalised areas of Bristol.

“Our students link with many creative companies across the Region during their two years as they undertake work-placed assignments within their curriculums, so this is a proud moment for Bristol. We’re ever thankful for the support and guidance our students receive from the West Country’s Creative Industry sector and many of them will now be progressing into careers within those networks.”

Boomsatsuma offers Level 3 Extended Diplomas in Creative and Digital Media, Film and Television, Games, VR & VFX, Sports Media Production and Photography Collective.

Mark Curtis, boomsatsuma Creative Director, says:

“It’s amazing to see 100% passing with a Merit and above for the second successive year. These young people will bring a truly diverse, fresh voice into the Creative businesses across the West Country and beyond. We’re grateful to our partners at Cabot Learning Foundation for their ongoing support. We’re delighted that future partnerships will underpin us widening our scope, opening a new centre this September, to reach more young people across Bristol and fuel their careers in the region’s expanding Creative sector.

“These incredibly talented, focused individuals have blown me away as we’ve seen them develop technical skills, while growing in confidence to follow their passions. I wish them all good luck with the next part of their journeys.”
