Businesses come together to celebrate supporting young Bristolians from across the city
Over 60 purpose-driven Bristol businesses joined forces at Electricity House last week, celebrating 2023’s achievements and unveiling ambitious plans for 2024. Hosted by Inside Travel Group, the event showcased testimonials from businesses and young beneficiaries, emphasising a commitment to positive, lasting change.
Community of Purpose, the Bristol-based social enterprise, expressed gratitude for collaborative efforts transcending organizational boundaries. CEO Amy Kington highlighted the community’s ethos – beyond avoiding harm, actively channeling energy for positive change.
In the past year, with support from companies like Lancer Scott and The National Lottery, the initiative impacted 1,637 young people, aged 8-19, working intensively with 209 families, spanning 27 communities and 84 schools.
Amy Kington proudly announced, “Our proven business model allows both businesses and communities to directly benefit. Despite challenges, we aim to support over 2,000 young people in 2024, inviting purpose-driven businesses to join us.”
Dan Knight from Lancer Scott stressed the importance of measuring outcomes, emphasizing the company’s investment in Community of Purpose makes a lasting impact.
Former Business West CEO James Durie, now part of the team, hailed Community of Purpose as one of the most effective ways for businesses to directly support and transform the lives of Bristol’s youth.
Durie urged companies to join Bristol’s most purpose-driven entities, stating, “If you and your company want to make Bristol better and act as a real force for good, please contact hello@communityofpurpose.com.”
