City of Bristol College has joined forces with The Guild of Guardians in supporting The Welcome Party, an event dedicated to honouring the cultural and economic contributions of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Bristol.
As an official partner, City of Bristol College joins a distinguished list of sponsors for the event, which will take place on November 7 at The Mount Without on St Michael’s Hill.

Attendees will experience headline appearances by the sporting royalty, Mo Farah, the celebrated athlete and former refugee and MoYah, a musician originally from Mozambique, who will share his powerful story of resilience through music.
The event will also serve as a platform for businesses across Bristol and the West of England to engage in meaningful discussions about diversity and inclusion, fostering connections with organisations that share a commitment to social cohesion and opportunity.
The college which went through a “once in a generation” rebranding recently has said that supporting the event aligns with its “dedication to empowering individuals from all backgrounds through education”.
MoYah said: “Education is one of the most powerful tools for empowerment” and we are certainly proud to provide learning opportunities that help people to succeed and integrate within our community.”
The spokesperson added: “By partnering with The Guild of Guardians and other supporters such as law firm Burges Salmon, housing association Curo and utility company Wessex Water, we are working to make The Welcome Party a celebration of resilience and unity. We stand with all of those who seek to make Bristol a welcoming place of growth and opportunity for everyone.”
