City of Bristol College has been awarded the matrix Standard, a recognised quality benchmark.
This recent accreditation underscores the college’s success in offering top-notch information, advice, and guidance (IAG) services, further strengthening its standing as a leader in education and student support.
Attaining the matrix Standard accreditation verifies that the college has effectively shown its capacity to deliver excellent IAG services to both its students and stakeholders.
The matrix Standard, owned by the Department for Education (DfE), ensures the provision of high-quality information, advice, and guidance (IAG) services that help individuals achieve their full potential.

Roger Chapman, head of the Matrix Service for The Growth Company, commended City of Bristol College’s achievement, emphasising the importance of strong leadership, excellent service, and continuous improvement in delivering high-quality advice and support services.
He noted that the Matrix Standard serves as a benchmark for best practices in these areas, and the college’s accreditation demonstrates its dedication to providing outstanding guidance and support for students and clients, ensuring their academic and personal success.
Jenna Cains, head of student experience, expressed pride in the accomplishment. She said: “We are incredibly proud to have achieved Matrix accreditation, a testament to our unwavering commitment to supporting the personal development and careers-related learning of our students.
This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our outstanding student experience team and student support services, whose tireless efforts in preparing for the Matrix assessment have truly set us apart.
By meeting the Matrix Standard’s rigorous criteria, the college demonstrates its ability to adapt to the evolving needs of students and the community while maintaining a focus on excellence.
