Dial A Geek launches its annual impact report
Bristol based managed service provider (MSP) and B Corp Dial A Geek has released its annual impact report, highlighting its efforts to promote sustainability among local businesses. The company’s primary objective this year was to encourage more businesses to adopt sustainable IT practices and consider becoming certified B Corporations.
Achieving B Corp certification involves a thorough assessment of a company’s policies, processes, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure a positive impact on society and the environment. Gildas Jones, Managing Director of Dial A Geek, emphasised the transformative nature of this journey, stating, “We realised we could do more for the environment and our community in a more systematic way.”
Dial A Geek’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its achievements over the past year, which include recycling, donating, or refurbishing all equipment received, refurbishing nearly 200 laptops to reduce e-waste, and providing private dental insurance for its entire team. The company also met its pro bono work targets, supporting causes like Refugee Women of Bristol, Bristol24/7’s 2023 charity partner.
Moreover, Dial A Geek is offsetting the carbon footprint of cloud services by planting trees through Ecologi, having planted 1,875 trees for each new Managed Service client.
“We hoped the journey to becoming a B Corp would be rewarding as well as challenging,” said Gildas Jones, reflecting on Dial A Geek’s sustainability efforts.
Dial A Geek is now offering a free trial of its Managed Services for local businesses in Bristol and surrounding areas, particularly those committed to green IT practices and human-centric business operations.
If you are considering a more systematic approach to sustainability for your business, Dial A Geek’s leadership team is available to share insights from their B Corp journey.
