Dial A Geek supports Refugee Women of Bristol with pro bono IT assistance
Managed Service Provider (MSP), Dial A Geek, continues its tradition of giving back to the community by offering pro bono IT services to local organisations. This year, the recipient of their generosity is Refugee Women of Bristol (RWoB), an organisation dedicated to addressing the unique needs of refugee women in the city.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary last year, RWoB was a natural choice for Dial A Geek’s philanthropic efforts, especially considering their historical ties as a former client and their recent partnership as Bristol24/7’s charity partner.
Gildas Jones, the founder and managing director of Dial A Geek, emphasised the company’s commitment to social responsibility, citing their status as a certified B Corporation. “We have in place a whole range of formal initiatives that benefit our community and the environment,” Jones stated. “This is something we’ve always done to a degree, but becoming a B Corp has helped us find new ways to improve our impact.”
The assistance provided by Dial A Geek’s technician, Syed Rahman, to RWoB included comprehensive health checks on all devices, optimising disk space, addressing antivirus issues, email administration, and training RWoB administrator, Vicki, on device setup and performance enhancement techniques.
Dial A Geek’s dedication to supporting local charities extends beyond RWoB. In previous years, they provided cybersecurity audits and consultancy to Bristol Mind and assisted The Harvey Hext Trust with security and ongoing tech challenges.
Looking ahead, Dial A Geek plans to continue its pro bono work in the next tax year and is actively seeking new charity partnerships. Charities based in the South-West of England interested in benefiting from Dial A Geek’s expertise are encouraged to reach out via their website.
