Future Leap announces B Corp Certification

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Jun 12, 2024

Future Leap, a leader in sustainable innovation, has proudly announced its certification as a B Corporation™ (B Corp™), underscoring its commitment to social and environmental responsibility, transparency, and accountability.

“The MET Office cited 2023 as the warmest year on record, and February was one of the warmest months ever. The latest IPCC report stresses the urgent need for greenhouse gas emissions to peak immediately. Despite the commitments made at COP28, government pledges fall short. It’s up to the business community to take action, motivating us to pursue B Corp™ certification. Our mission is to support organisations in their journey to net zero and sustainable practices, leading by example. We’re immensely proud to have achieved B Corp™ status,” said Katherine Piper, head of sustainability at Future Leap.

B Corp™ certification is awarded to companies meeting the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. Future Leap joins a global community of over 5,000 B Corporations™ across 153 industries and 77 countries, all aiming to redefine business success.

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

“We are incredibly proud to become a certified B Corp™,” said Alan Bailey, managing director of Future Leap. “This certification reflects our team’s dedication to driving positive change. We believe businesses can be a force for good, and this recognition reinforces our commitment to sustainable and ethical operations.”

Future Leap’s journey to B Corp™ certification involved a rigorous assessment of its impact on workers, customers, community, and the environment. Key initiatives contributing to the certification include:

  • Environmental Sustainability: Investing in innovative technologies and practices that reduce environmental impact and promote sustainability. Future Leap’s hubs exemplify sustainable design and delivery.
  • Social Sustainability: Collaborating with local communities and organisations on social and environmental initiatives, fostering collective responsibility. The company prioritises employee wellbeing and development through wellness programs and professional growth opportunities.
  • Transparency and Accountability: Maintaining high transparency in operations and decision-making processes, ensuring accountability to all stakeholders. Future Leap has amended its articles of association to include commitments to people and the planet.

As a B Corp™, Future Leap is committed to balancing purpose and profit, using business as a force for good to benefit people, communities, and the planet. “We look forward to collaborating with other B Corps™ and like-minded organisations to amplify our impact,” added Bailey.
