Grundon chosen as waste management partner for Golf & Leisure Group expansion
Waste management leader Grundon has been selected as the waste management partner for the growing Golf & Leisure Group in the South West.
The group, led by owners James and Candice Rogers, oversees the Bristol Golf Centre in Hambrook, three observation wheels, temporary food and drink sites, and a permanent adventure golf site in Weston-super-Mare. Since the acquisition of the Bristol Golf Centre in 2020, over £2 million has been invested in enhancements.
With increasing footfall, the Hambrook site generates substantial waste, including food, cardboard, recyclable glass, and general waste. Grundon’s appointment has resulted in doubled collection rates, ensuring proper disposal of over 700 kilograms of waste monthly.
Darren Fairchild, General Manager at Bristol Golf Centre, praised Grundon for their flexibility and comprehensive service, noting a smooth transition to weekly collections.
Nick Malvern, Sales Manager at Grundon in Bristol, highlighted the shared values of quality and customer service. Established in Bristol since 2020, Grundon has implemented key sustainability initiatives, including a £300k electric collection vehicle.
The company’s expertise in managing waste streams at major events positions it as an ideal partner for Golf & Leisure Group’s expansion. The efficient partnership reflects the commitment to maintaining a positive customer experience and reputation in the face of growing visitor numbers.
