Inspirational panellist lineup for youth networking event in Bristol
An exciting evening is planned for young people on Wednesday, April 24. Ask About Me returns for another year, hosted by Babbasa and Bristol24/7, giving the city’s youth the opportunity to meet with professionals and make connections.
The event is already oversubscribed, with more than 260 people registered to attend. With a packed programme, attendees can expect a range of activities including film screenings and networking.

At the Ask About Me event, there will also be a panel discussion with speakers from a range of sectors, including:
Richard Potter, chief technology officer for Microsoft Enterprise Services, who advises business leaders across the globe on how to navigate the digital world in order to turn their aspirations into transformational business results.
Zainab Khan, faculty academic director of student experience at UWE Bristol’s faculty of business and law, and founder of the university’s award-winning Equity programme.

Stephen Fear, a businessman, philanthropist and author who began his entrepreneurial journey at the age of just 15. Now in its fiftieth year, Fear Group is run by Stephen and his son, Leon.

Marissa Lewis-Peart, who was awarded the Ben Martin Apprenticeship, run in collaboration with Bristol Media, Babbasa and the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising. As part of the opportunity, Marissa attended South by South West in Texas, the world’s largest tech, media, music and film conference festival.
Mo Ali, a teenage entrepreneur, philosopher and student, who was the youngest ever School for Social Entrepreneurs recruit a few years ago.

The audience at Wednesday afternoon’s event will get a chance to ask the diverse panel any questions they might have following the discussion.
The event will host two networking activities so there will be plenty of opportunity for young people to connect with a variety of Bristol businesses. There will be a presentation from the youth ambassadors, with further information about what the role involves. Lord mayor Cleo Lake is also due to make a special guest appearance.
Following the formal programme, there will be time for informal networking.
Ask About Me is also an opportunity to introduce more businesses in the city to Babbasa’s mentoring scheme helping young people to acquire new skills, work experience and confidence with a mentor from within their chosen sector.
The aim of the mentor’s role is to give a young person professional support and help to achieve career goals.
