Kate who founded Kate’s Kitchen back in 2007 has expressed her passion for preparing healthy meals with locally sourced produce. She said: “I am a chef by trade, my passion is cooking food with local, seasonal and organic produce.”

On the Gold accreditation Kate said: “It shows what work we are doing within the business by prioritising organic, local and seasonal food, and being recognised for it. Demonstrating that what we are doing is good for the environment, soil and health.

“It’s a great marketing tool to show our customers what we have achieved and what we care about. We have put the certification in our office lunch brochures, which will give us the edge against competition.”

Caron Longden, head of Business Development, Healthy and Sustainable Diets said: “Huge congratulations to Kate’s Kitchen for achieving Food for Life Served Here Gold certification for their corporate menus.

“A clear demonstration of the effort they put into their menus and sourcing, championing fresh, local and organic ingredients. They provide food that is better for climate, nature and health. A fantastic achievement.”

As a Food for Life Served Here Gold certification holder, Kate’s Kitchen serves meat which comes from farms which satisfy UK welfare standards; sustainable fish and free-range eggs; at least 15 per cent organic ingredients and locally produced and seasonal produce.

On the road to Gold accreditation, Kate said: “It was something I had wanted to do for ages, as having the recognition of an industry certification is really helpful.

“It’s useful for marketing purposes and for our corporate clients to support their sustainability practices. It’s great to have found the time to achieve our Food for Life Served Here Gold certification.”
