Make a risotto to support young people with employment opportunities
Making risotto this winter will be an enjoyable new way to support Bristol charity, Square Food Foundation.
The initiative, which is a collaboration between Good Sixty and Better Food Company, will help the Square Food Foundation to provide young people with life skills and employment opportunities.
The delivery company and organic supermarket have together created the Young Chefs Recipe Box which contains the ingredients and instructions to make the perfect risotto for the chilly winter months.
For every box ordered, ten per cent will support Square Food’s How To Be A Chef employability programme. The 12-week course, which was launched in 2018 with the help of Bristol24/7, is aimed at young people who have left school or college and are struggling to find employment.
The Young Chefs programme is one of a number of projects run through Bristol24/7’s Better Bristol initiative, a collaborative approach to creating positive impact in the city.
“Good Sixty is super excited to be supporting the Square Food Foundation in their community initiative to provide culinary education to the young people of Bristol,” said Sarah Newell, who is the marketing and communications executive at Good Sixty.
“We loved putting together the recipe box with fresh ingredients from one of our much-loved retailers, Better Food, and can’t wait to deliver it around Bristol to our foodie customers. As a platform, we are all about investing money back into the local economy, which is why we will be donating 10 per cent of the box price back to the Young Chef’s programme.”

The Young Chef’s programme covers everything from basic life skills for independent living, to more advanced recipes and techniques that will provide them with the confidence and knowledge they need to find a job in the hospitality industry.
You can order the sustainable, plastic-free recipe box, which has ingredients fresh from Better Food Company and a recipe written by Square Food Foundation’s Founder, Barny Haughton.
The Young Chefs recipe box costs £23.85 and is available to order online from the Good Sixty website.
