Professional Apprenticeships joins the Better Business network
Since 2017 there have been huge changes to apprenticeships, and it can seem like a minefield for businesses to navigate. Professional Apprenticeships are a government funded apprenticeship training provider that makes the whole process easy, for both apprentice applicants and businesses alike.
The apprenticeship provider offers free and proactive apprentice recruitment and can also access government funding to train a business’s existing team.
In recent years, apprenticeships have become more inclusive, and are now open to people of all ages – from school leavers to graduates.
Professional Apprenticeships was founded in Bristol in 2016 by Carina Bush and Adam Rooke. They set up and deliver apprenticeships in digital marketing, ICT, business, customer service and a range of
management options.
In the company’s most recent Ofsted monitoring visit, they scored the highest possible grading. Ofsted said: “Apprentices are very ambitious and highly motivated. They are supported well by highly qualified and enthusiastic tutors. As a result, apprentices rapidly develop substantial new knowledge, skills and behaviours that have a beneficial impact on their employers’ businesses”.

Voted the region’s best apprenticeship provider at the local apprenticeship awards in 2021, the company has become known for quality. This academic year, Professional Apprenticeships are immensely proud to have a 100% first time pass rate of which 83% of the apprentices got Distinctions.
Carina said: “We had worked in the industry for years and felt that it needed to change. We set up Professional Apprenticeships to offer the very best training for our apprentices and are firm believers in the power of finding the right person for the right role. We go above and beyond with our free apprenticeship recruitment service and take time to understand our applicants as well as a business’s journey, culture, and needs.”
Many forward-thinking companies are using the apprenticeship program to not only bring in new talent but train their existing team as well. With a minimum of 95% of the training cost covered by the government, this can be a great way to fill skills gaps and offer career progression.
Adam said “We are excited to be training apprentices at Bristol24/7 and now be members of the Better Business initiative. If you are looking for an apprenticeship or are an employer looking to grow or train your team, then get in touch.”
