Renishaw appoints new group general counsel and company secretary
Renishaw plc, a global leader in engineering technologies, has announced the appointment of Kasim Hussain as its new group general counsel and company secretary.
Kasim, who joined the company in July 2024, will oversee the group’s legal, compliance, and company secretarial functions, including regional teams.
With an extensive experience in listed environments, Kasim will provide strategic direction to Renishaw’s board of directors and executive committee, advising on risk and governance matters.
Before joining Renishaw, he served as group divisional counsel at Spirax Group plc, a FTSE 100 engineering firm, and held roles in private practice at renowned international law firms such as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Addleshaw Goddard. Kasim is a Law graduate from the University of Warwick and a practicing solicitor in England and Wales.

Renishaw’s chief executive, Will Lee, expressed his enthusiasm about Kasim’s appointment, highlighting his expertise in risk, governance, M&A, and strategy, as well as his substantial experience in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. “We are excited to see what he achieves in this business-critical role,” Lee stated.
