TAP for Bristol’s Z-House Project Marks World Homeless Day 2023
On World Homeless Day, Bristol’s TAP for Bristol program is taking a bold step to address homelessness. This initiative will now dedicate 50% of donations to fund the innovative Z-House Project by Caring in Bristol, a local charity.
Since 2020, TAP for Bristol has been a force for good, supporting Caring in Bristol’s Homelessness Prevention Programme. It has already helped over 1,000 Bristol residents, with a remarkable 95% success rate.
Now, Caring in Bristol is transforming its office into the Z-House Project, offering short-term housing to homeless young adults aged 18-25 while they secure stable homes.
The shelter, strategically placed in Bristol’s city center, will provide two beds for longer-term stays and two rooms for emergencies. Practical support, such as life skills training, will be offered.
Vicky Lee, Head of Bristol City Centre BID, lauds the project’s tailored support, emphasizing the need for such initiatives in the face of the homelessness crisis.
Caring in Bristol seeks local businesses’ support to enhance the project’s impact through resources, group sessions, workshops, or training opportunities.
Ian Byworth, CEO at Caring in Bristol, underscores the power of collaboration in tackling homelessness: “The3 solution to homelessness in our city lies in the joining-up of contributions from across the city. This new youth shelter is one such example; providing much needed accommodation and support for young people facing homelessness – all made possible from the backing, donations and volunteering that others have provided.”
TAP for Bristol, with £100,000 raised over four years, continues to expand, with recent installations in key locations.

Bristol unites to combat homelessness, with the Z-House Project symbolizing the city’s compassion and commitment to a brighter future for its vulnerable residents.
