TLT ranked amongst top three in clean energy legal league table
Bristol lawfirm, TLT, has placed in the top three most active clean energy advisers in Clean Energy Pipeline’s 2021 clean energy legal league table.
The clean energy legal league table ranks the world’s top 20 law firms that acted as legal advisers on clean energy projects and deals in 2021.
The annual ranking includes law firms who have advised a mix of developers, companies, and investors on transactions for global clean energy project developments and technologies.
TLT was ranked as the third most active adviser in terms of the number of M&A deals completed in 2021. The position is based on the firm advising on 45 deals throughout the year.
The firm was also ranked twelfth for the number of project finance deal, advising on ten deals worth a value of $186 million dollars, or £156 million pounds.
Notable projects have included advising Ecotricity on the sale of The Electric Highway to GRIDSERVE, advising Korkia on its first clean energy investments in the UK – a 500 megawatt solar joint venture with ClimateER and a one gigawatt solar joint venture with Evolution Power and advising Eastleigh Borough Council on the acquisition of the Chalcroft solar project from Octopus.
Kay Hobbs, partner at TLT said: “In the last couple of years we have worked on some of the most significant clean energy projects in the UK. It’s an honour to see the hard work and dedication of our team recognised once again in Clean Energy Pipeline’s legal league table.
“The volume of M&A deals we advised on in 2021 is a reflection of our position as a leader for clean energy. We’re pleased that we still rank in the top three law firms in the country and will continue to play a key role in identifying opportunities for developers, investors and funders,” Hobbs continued.
