The new platform for Bristol’s young creatives

By Bristol24/7  Monday Dec 13, 2021

Elevate Us is the new platform and collective curated by and for 18-25 year olds in Bristol who hope to gain experience in and understand the creative, events & festival sectors.

Through networking and industry events, the collective is there to empower young people from under-represented backgrounds, inspire and connect them to opportunities that otherwise might not be accessible.

By breaking down barriers and creating an inclusive environment, Elevate Us means that those involved are able to focus on festivals and events.

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

“The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the arts and culture sector has particularly affected young people,” said Lucy Caswell from Elevate Us.

“Even pre-pandemic, there has been a long standing under-representation of minority groups, those from working class backgrounds, and those without a degree qualification working within the creative sector for a variety of different reasons.”

“Elevate Us intends to encourage a more diverse range of young people, who are from all walks of life, to consider working in the creative, events, and festival sectors. Working together as a collective to be the next generation of established professionals within the events, festival or creative sector.”

The first series of events ran from September to October 2021, where young creatives were able to showcase their talents and perform to an audience.

Elevate Us will be hosting a Christmas party with a lineup of DJs on December 15 at the Love Inn, which will be an opportunity for people to build connections with creatives and established professionals within the Bristol scene.

You can follow Elevate Us on socials to stay updated on all their events and content on their Instagram and Facebook.
