Animation studio expands Bristol base

By Charlie Watts  Tuesday Oct 26, 2021

An independent animation production studio in Bristol has expanded to cater for its growing workforce.

A Productions, which creates award-winning children’s content, has opened an additional studio on the fourth floor of 15 Colston Street.

The new studio will be used to produce animations for American channel HBO Max, with its existing studio in Old Market being used to make shows for Cbeebies.

A Productions was founded in 1985 and its work includes Cbeebies series JoJo & Gran Gran, Love Monster and The Tweenies.

The studio, which has a 150-strong team, is also behind The Monster at the End of This Story, Sesame Street’s first ever animated special for HBO Max.

She added: “At A Productions, we pride ourselves in our creativity, the versatility of our design capabilities and content and our expertise in integrating animation with live action.

“It’s also hugely important to us that diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our ethos and approach.”
