Bristol animation company A Productions has been named among the best places to work in television at a prestigious awards ceremony.

The Colston Street business has now been twice honoured with a Best Places to Work in TV accolade.

The awards event is run by Broadcast magazine in collaboration with the Workforce Research Group.

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

The awards aim to identify and recognise outstanding employers in the TV production industry, with workplaces reviewed and rated on criteria such as staff satisfaction and rewards, training, fairness and work environment.

A Productions has worked on an ever-expanding slate of kids shows including CBeebies’ JoJo & Gran Gran and Love Monster, and Sesame Street: The Nutcracker.

A Productions joint managing director, Katherine McQueen, said: “We are honoured to have been named one of the best places to work in TV for a second time – what a fantastic start to the year.

“Our success in creating award-winning, iconic content is only possible thanks to the incredible team of creatives behind it.

“We strive to make our studio a fun, diverse and supportive environment and we’re proud to have that recognised with this award.”

The industry accolade comes at an exciting time for A Productions as the company moves into developing its own creator-driven content alongside its ever-expanding list of commissioned animation productions.

A Productions was established in 1985 and since then the company has been committed to nurturing new talent and providing a supportive and trusting environment where employees can grow and contribute towards the collective success of the company.

Among the initiatives and measures in place for employees’ wellbeing includes an internal mentoring scheme, an extensive and open staff feedback programmes, adopting a dog-friendly workplace, and free life drawing classes.
