Bristol businesswomen shortlisted for national award
Two businesswomen who work in Bristol have been selected as finalists for the 2021 NatWest everywoman Awards out of almost 1,000 entrants.
Alice Stephenson and Sarah Bolt have both been shortlisted for the Demeter Award, which recognises inspirational women who have been running a business for three to five years.
Sarah is the CEO and co-founder of Forth, which provides people with home blood tests to give them an insight into their biological health.
She wanted to draw attention to the importance of menstrual cycle hormones as a barometer of women’s health, and raised £170,000 via crowdfunding to start her business after being turned down by male investors.
Forth, which aims to represent human health data in an engaging, accessible and insightful form, now has more than 30,000 customers in the UK.

Sarah commented: “I am delighted to be selected as a finalist for the NatWest everywoman Awards and honoured to be amongst a stellar line up of inspirational females across all of the categories.
“It is great that awards and initiatives are set up like this to inspire women to become founders and celebrate our successes.”
Alice, meanwhile, is the founder and CEO of Stephenson Law, “a law firm with a human side” that empowers lawyers to wear what they want, and work where and when they want.
She is considered a modernising force in the law industry and now has 34 professionals on her firm, which she set up after being frustrated by the “archaic and rigid” legal profession.

On being a finalist in the NatWest everywoman Awards, Alice said: “To be amongst so many trailblazers is a huge milestone not only for me, but for my firm.
“In building Stephenson Law I was hell bent on creating a firm that championed innovation, creativity, and diversity – and it’s great to see this mission recognised as part of this nomination.”
The 2021 NatWest everywoman Awards, which celebrate female entrepreneurs from all walks of life, take place in London on 7 December.
