Bristol-headquartered bank named ‘Global Good Finance Player’ of the year
Triodos Bank has been awarded ‘Global Good Finance Player of the Year’ accolade at the Global Good Awards, in recognition of “making positive impact through financing progressive companies and organisations”.
With its UK headquarters in Bristol, Triodos Bank was lauded for its innovative financing strategies.
Established in 2015, the Global Good Awards recognises businesses, NGOs, charities, and social enterprises that lead in sustainability and ethical leadership. The event was held at British Medical Association (BMA) House in Tavistok Square in London on October 3.
The Finance Player of the Year award acknowledges companies that utilise financial instruments such as loans and investments to significantly impact sustainable initiatives, facilitating their growth and sustainability.

Bevis Watts, chief executive of Triodos Bank UK, has expressed his delight in receiving the award. He said: “We’re honoured to be recognised as Global Good Finance Player of the Year, as we continue to champion sustainability within the banking sector.

We’re particularly pleased to have the judges recognise our pioneering lending work for nature-based investment projects, as this is an area where we see potential to scale our impact.”
Triodos has reiterated its commitment to funding for positive change, providing finance and support to environmentally and socially beneficial organisations. Recent notable projects include a £3 million loan to the Solar for Schools Community Benefit Society (CBS) to expand its solar-powered schools scheme across the country. It also provided a funding boost to City to Sea, an organisation that aims to stop plastic pollution early this year.
