By Milan Perera  Tuesday Nov 19, 2024

Catherine Frankpitt, founder and managing director of Bristol-based PR agency Strike Communications, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious UK Top Business Adviser Awards.

Organised by Enterprise Nation, the awards celebrate the country’s top business advisers, with Catherine being selected from hundreds of leaders across the UK and Ireland.

As one of the five finalists in the PR and Content category, Catherine’s recognition highlights her outstanding dedication and expertise in driving the growth of Strike Communications while also supporting purpose-led organisations to amplify their impact.

Better Business
Better Business is an initiative launched by Bristol24/7 to help businesses thrive, whilst creating a positive impact on Bristol and the people who live here.

The winner of this category will be determined through a public vote.

Founded nearly five years ago, Strike Communications was established to provide strategic communications and creative storytelling for charities and purpose-driven organisations

Speaking about her nomination, Catherine said: “I’m hugely grateful to be shortlisted for this award, but it is very much a team effort, so this is recognition of the hard work of our small but brilliantly dedicated team.”

Founded nearly five years ago, Strike Communications was established to provide strategic communications and creative storytelling for charities and purpose-driven organisations.

Catherine’s vision has been to help these organisations tell their success stories, build credibility, and effectively engage with their target audiences.

She added, “Through a mix of strategic thinking and creative storytelling, communications can truly amplify an organisation’s profile and good work. Strike was set up to do exactly that for charities and purpose-led organisations in Bristol and across the UK.”

Strike now works with a diverse range of clients, including universities, cultural institutions, and charities focused on everything from adult social care to environmental sustainability.

Recently, Strike published a Comms for Good paper, offering valuable insights on effective strategies for purpose-led communications.

The agency’s work continues to focus on helping organisations tell their stories in the right way, ensuring that their messages resonate with the right audiences.

“There are many organisations doing brilliant work, but sometimes they aren’t telling their success stories in the way they should be,” Catherine explained.

“Building credibility and engaging target audiences can really help organisations to continue to deliver and thrive. We’re so lucky to do the work we do, supporting a fantastic array of clients. It would be the icing on the cake to win this award.”

In addition to her work at Strike, Catherine recently shared her expertise on the Made for Impact podcast, offering tips for charities and social enterprises on how to communicate effectively where she emphasised the importance of storytelling in creating a lasting impact and fostering relationships with supporters.

Strike Communications, which celebrates its fifth anniversary in March 2025, has established a reputation as a trusted communications partner for organisations making a positive impact.

The team, currently composed of five core members and supported by a network of experts, is committed to helping clients succeed in the ever-evolving communications landscape.

The UK Top Business Adviser Awards, organised by Enterprise Nation and in association with Constant Contact, aim to recognise the dedication and hard work of business advisers who support small businesses across the UK.

The winners will be announced at an event in London, on December 5.
