Bristol Redistro opens funding applications for community-led groups
On a mission to tackle inequality and redistribute power, Bristol Redistro has opened funding applications for a second time.
For those who missed the first round of applications, the non-profit is on the hunt for a range of grassroots groups who are in need of funding and want to create social change.
Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, Bristol Redistro will bring together groups that have applied for the money together to decide collectively how it’s shared out. Not only will shortlisted organisations collectively agree on how the funding is distributed – but will also have the opportunity to meet new like-minded groups and work together.
Bristol Redistro highlights the importance of shared wealth and power, which is why in the last round of funding they shared out £6,350 between seven groups including Filwood Community Markets, Mandem, and No More Exclusions. It is these seven groups who will carry out the shortlisting for the next round of applications – allowing the distribution of power throughout the Bristol Redistro process.
