Chartered accountants complete major merger with financial management firm

By Milan Perera  Monday Oct 14, 2024

Aligning with its recent expansion strategy, Streets Chartered Accountants has announced a milestone merger with Mitch Consulting Limited, a pioneering tech-powered firm known for its innovative approach to delivering assurance and financial management, particularly for FinTech start-ups and scale-ups.

Streets, a Top 40 UK professional service firm, welcomed Mitch Consulting Limited into its fold. Mitch Consulting, a boutique practice specialising in outsourced accounting and finance solutions through cloud-based programs and digital platforms, will merge with Streets Steele, the Bristol practice of Streets Chartered Accountants.

The Almondsbury-based Streets Steele has developed an industry-leading virtual finance office service tailored for dynamic and rapidly growing businesses. The latest merger is the fifth of its kind in the last six months for Streets as it sets to increase its business footprint in the region.

Mark Mitchell, co-founder of Mitch Consulting Limited, expressed his enthusiasm about the merger: “With a background in the financial management of technology-related businesses, including some very large and well-known companies, we founded Mitch Consulting in 2014 to support start-up and scale-up enterprises.

With the recent merger, Streets now boasts 27 offices, over 60 partners and directors and more than 350 staff members

“We recognized that many such businesses could benefit from a CFO and finance team but couldn’t afford them. By leveraging the latest in accountancy and financial management software, we provided an affordable and highly effective solution. Our experienced team of highly qualified accountants has ensured we offer high-end and specialist advice and support.”

Mitchell continued, “For our practice to grow and as part of our succession planning, we needed to consider the next steps for the business. ”

Paul Tutin, managing partner of Streets, highlighted the significance of the merger. He said: “The merger with Mitch Consulting is one of five we have completed in less than six months. This latest merger is particularly exciting as it enhances our focus on driving innovation in service delivery for our clients.

“Embracing technology is crucial for effective financial reporting and management, especially for businesses in the fast-moving FinTech sector. Having Mitch Consulting join us, along with our dedicated VFO team in Bristol, boosts our service offering and sets us apart from the competition. We are excited about the opportunities this merger provides and developing an industry-leading service.”

The firm is also in discussions with several other firms about potential mergers, with further announcements expected in the coming months.
