Deliveroo launches ‘rapid’ grocery service in Bristol
Deliveroo data has revealed that the top-selling grocery items across Bristol are milk, bananas, cucumber, raspberries and avocados.
The data is part of Deliveroo’s announcement that it is launching a new delivery service, ‘Deliveroo HOP’ in Bristol in partnership with Morrisons.
The new Deliveroo HOP store on Oxford Street in St Philip’s, near Temple Meads, aims to give residents rapid on-demand access to around 2,000 products from 8am to midnight every day.
Their products will include Morrisons’ ‘The Best’ range of award-winning wines, ready meals and groceries as well as meat and fish from its market street counters.

Deliveroo hopes the location of the store will enable thousands of households across the city to benefit from faster grocery delivery. The company will use its existing network of riders in Bristol to facilitate deliveries.
Deliveroo first launched Deliveroo HOP last year to complement the company’s existing on-demand grocery service, which already delivers from approaching 6,000 partner grocery stores in the UK – including Morrisons, Co-op, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s in Bristol.
Speaking about the decision to launch the service, Carlo Mocci, Deliveroo’s chief business officer for the UK and Ireland, said people are looking for “ease” in their daily lives: “Deliveroo’s ability to provide rapid grocery delivery in minutes is meeting that demand in Bristol.
Mocci said the company had now taken its long standing partnership with Morrisons to “bring more choice and convenience to Bristol residents.”
Hannah Horsfall, head of wholesale at Morrisons, said the launch of Deliveroo HOP represented “a key moment” for the supermarket by enabling customers to choose from a wide selection of groceries and have them delivered in minutes.
Morrisons already works with Amazon’s grocery delivery service, Amazon Fresh.
The supermarket also recently bought struggling convenience store chain McColl’s for which it is currently being investigated by the competitions regulator, Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
The CMA’s probe will determine whether the deal will affect competition in the sector, it was announced on Monday.
