Family-run firm marks best year in business
A family-run business has recorded its best year of trading since the company was founded.
Bosses at Arnos Vale-based facilities management firm Almeda Facilities Ltd bosses said they were delighted to sign off their latest year-end accounts with a turnover of around £7.3m.
Brady Savage-George, managing director of the firm, has singled out the “painstakingly obsessive” approach to customer service and ever-changing requirements in the face of the pandemic as the key factor for the strong trading period.
Formed in 1981 as an electrical contracting company, Brady’s father Gary George re-launched Almeda in 2007 as a total facilities management provider and swooped up major clients wins, including Arnolfini, Bristol & Bath Science Park and SS Great Britain.

Brady Savage-George says how the company reacted to Covid has shaped it for the future
Speaking on the fruitful year of trading, Brady said: “It was an extremely challenging time, and the pandemic is in the past, but how we reacted then has shaped who we are now. Britain’s buildings still needed to be looked after and the team worked around the clock to go over and above for our customers.
“We then came out of the pandemic with tighter processes and systems, enabling us to continue to provide competitive prices for our longstanding customers, meeting their evolving needs at a time of high inflation and uncertainty.”

Almeda works with business spanning multiple sectors – from manufacturing, commercial, retail, heritage management through to commercial office environments
Almeda now works with business spanning multiple sectors – from manufacturing, commercial, retail, heritage management through to commercial office environments.
Brady joined the company at the age of 23 in 2010, before taking over as managing director in 2015 at the age of 29.
On the future of the company, Richard Frost, technical director at Almeda, said: “Our focus in the next few years will be to connect with new local customers and we’ll also be rolling out a series of exciting events and initiatives to help in lifting the fog around statutory compliance in building services post Covid to share with fellow industry professionals.”
The business currently employs 66 staff, with plans to continue recruiting as the company grows.
