Hotdesking firm finishes year on high with multiple industry accolades
A Bristol-founded co-working space is ending the year on high, securing three industry awards and several nominations.
DeskLodge, known for its imaginative office spaces – featuring everything from a full-size Doctor Who Tardis to a Hobbit Hole – has captured the imagination of over 10,000 people across the city.
Founded by Tom Ball in 2015, DeskLodge’s mission was to create “dynamic work spaces that inspire creativity and productivity”.
This vision was sparked by Ball’s visit to Google’s innovative London office, where the idea for a unique co-working space first took shape.

The company’s original location opened in Old Market in 2015, before moving to a larger six-floor site in Redcliffe, near Bristol Temple Meads, in 2019.
The success of the Redcliffe location led to the opening of a second site in Beacon Tower in November 2023, in response to increasing demand from a growing clientele.
Today, DeskLodge’s two locations host more than 200 companies and serve over 2,000 regular users.
Following last year’s success – when DeskLodge was named one of the Sunday Times’ Top 10 Best Places to Work – the company has continued to excel in 2024.
Tom Ball was named ‘Business Leader of the Year’ at Business Leader Awards for his contributions to the sector, while DeskLodge received the ‘Best Coworking Space Provider 2024’ award for South West England at the UK Enterprise Awards.
The company also earned the title of ‘Coworking Space of the Year 2024/5’ at the Corporate LiveWire Awards.

In addition to these accolades, DeskLodge was featured in the Small Biz 100 list and ranked number 13 in the Tally Awards 2024 Top 100 Workspaces.
Jamie Ellis, managing director of DeskLodge, said: “DeskLodge began with the belief that the space you work in has a big impact on how you work.
“Inspiring productivity through imaginative work zones is still what drives us today, but we’re about much more than just quirky spaces – we make sure we’re in handy locations, with incredible teams who really look after our users, and bucketloads of the best coffee.”
The two DeskLodge locations offer co-working spaces to suit a variety of tastes and needs, from formal office setups to quirky, themed areas inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Egyptian gods, submarines and Merlin’s Cave.
With monthly breakfasts, evening socials, annual Easter egg hunts, and a range of free activities and treats, the firm has set its sights on redefining what co-working spaces can be.

“We truly believe that getting the workspace right can be the difference between success and failure for organisations,” added Ellis.
