Pre-fabricated homes to be craned into Park Street
50 Park Street used to be a nightclub but now sits empty. But now, having been bought by Urban Creation in 2018, pre-fabricated homes will be craned into the disused nightclub over three nights in August.
The company have received permission from the council to close Park Street for three nights, from August 11-13, to crane nine prefab homes into the space.
This may be the first time in the UK that pre-fabricated homes are craned into an empty shell of a building, as opposed to cleared land which is more typical.

The property, which was rebuilt in the 1950s after being bombed in World War Two has been stabilised with a steel structure and is ready for the lift-in.
The pre-fabricated home were made in Southampton and are already fitted with decorated bathrooms and kitchens. They will be let to students.
