A Bristol-based marketing recruitment specialist has announced its certification as a B Corp.
Henry Nicholas has been awarded the certification by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit.
John Austin, MD and founder of Henry Nicholas, said: “Being awarded the B Corp certification is important to Henry Nicholas as it demonstrates to our employees, customers and community that we are a business for good.
“The B Corp certification will inspire and energise the team, as we join forces with other purpose driven businesses to collectively help make positive changes to society.”
Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, added: “We are delighted to welcome Henry Nicholas to the B Corp community.
“This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good.
“We know that Henry Nicholas are going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward.”
The B Corp certification is an internationally recognised measure with a rigorous certification process.
Applicants are required to reach a benchmark score of more than 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency.
Henry Nicholas, which is based in Redcliffe, joins the global community of 6,600 businesses which are certified as B Corps.
The UK B Corp community represents a broad cross section of industries including 91 other recruitment companies and well-known brands such as The Guardian, Patagonia and The Body Shop.
