‘We’re looking for people who are passionate about technology for good’
Vaarst, a leading provider of tech-powered offshore wind solutions is set to expand its talent pool both at its Bristol-based headquarters and nationwide, with the creation of over 100 tech jobs by the end of 2025.
Bristol is considered one of the leading lights for green technology, especially in offshore robotics. With the creation of 50 new roles at its Bristol HQ, Vaarst, is set to cement its position of influence in the sector.
The new roles at its Bristol headquarters will span over areas such as machine learning, computer vision autonomy, data, AI, and robotics software engineering.
These positions involve working at the cutting edge of innovation in the green subsea industry, accelerating the energy transition, and supporting the offshore wind sector.
The company, valued at nearly $200m, is on a recruitment drive to support its growing global operations.

“Technology will be vital in improving the economics of offshore wind and accelerating the energy transition,” says Brian Allen, chief executive at Vaarst
On the new chapter of expansion and development, Brian Allen, chief executive at Vaarst, said: “Technology will be vital in improving the economics of offshore wind and accelerating the energy transition. High-tech solutions will both support existing jobs in the sector and create new ones, all while reducing operational timelines and costs. We’re looking for people who are passionate about technology for good and can help us on our mission to change the economics of offshore wind.”
This recruitment drive is part of Vaarst’s broader plans for global expansion. The company has already hired nearly 30 new roles across its Bristol and Aberdeen offices in the first few months of 2024.
By the end of 2025, it aims to have hired for around 200 new positions globally, including 25 in the US to support recent agreements with the likes of industry giant Orsted, and ten in Asia. Furthermore, several new offices are set to opened across European and Asian tech hubs.
Also speaking on the fresh talent hunt, James Reynolds, head of talent acquisition at Vaarst, said: “We’re a leading player in high-tech offshore wind solutions, developing autonomous inspection for challenging environments and deploying innovations in crucial areas like AI. We’ve seen huge growth across our operations over the past couple of years, so we’re excited to bring on some new tech talent to support and continue our growth.”
Founded in 2016 in Bristol, the sister companies, Rovco and Vaarst, are high-tech firms with a mission to “bring renewable energy to the forefront of the energy mix”. Rovco is a tech-powered offshore wind solutions provider while Vaarst functions as its robotic spin-off.
Vaarst’s technology is set to boost efficiency across the development, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of offshore wind farms.
