Cafe Des Amis moves from Whitehall to Easton
Cafe Des Amis has moved a few hundred yards from Whitehall to Easton, with a new business that will make flavoured spirits moving into its former home.
Now on the other side of the Bristol & Bath Railway Path, the new cafe within Easton Community Centre on Kilburn Road has lost the ‘e’ from ‘amies’ and is open seven days a week from 9am to 3pm, with all food and drink sourced from suppliers within a 40-mile radius.
is needed now More than ever
Cafe Des Amis’ Lynds, Glenn, Sean, Addis, Jamie left the following post on their Facebook page before the move:
Well that’s it guys, keys have been handed back. Before we look forward to all the great things planned, we want to acknowledge that 86 Whitehall Road, has been an important place to many people. Some PR types have no concept of what being part of a community means, not all fancy coffee or decor but a safe reliable place to just be. Somewhere to natter, get away from it all, meet friends or love ones, start or end the day. Laugh and cry or a good old rant (I was good at that one!) We had it all, come alone or in a group all fine with us. Picking up parcels, dancing, drawing, lovely art work playing music. Enjoying local drinks with breakfast or tapas. But most of all it’s about friendship, we feel so privallage to get to know so many fabulous people every day. Some are now also true friends. We were welcomed in and made to made to feel at home just a year ago and so many fab memories. Thank you all for this. We are sad to have to close the door on the building, but promise that Cafe Des Amies spirit is here to stay and grow only few more steps away.
Moving into 86 Whitehall Road as early as next month will be Espensen Spirit, promising “flavoured vodkas, gins and whiskies not like all the rest”.
