Spicer & Cole to open third cafe

By Bristol24/7  Friday Jan 29, 2016

Spicer & Cole will be opening a new cafe in March where Tart once was on Gloucester Road.

It will be the third Spicer & Cole, who already have premises on Queen Square Avenue between Queen Square and Welsh Back, and Princess Victoria Street in Clifton Village.

Owners Chris and Carla Swift aim to provide “consistently good coffee and the best possible everyday food, in a clean, uncluttered space, firmly placing the focus back on the produce”.

The cafe is partly named after the historic Spicer’s Hall on Welsh Back by Bristol Bridge, the home of medieval merchant and three-times mayor Richard Spicer, who bequeathed his home to the Corporation of Bristol in 1377.

The impressive oak doorway to the house is on display at M Shed.
