Make Sunday Special to leave city centre

By Martin Booth  Friday Jan 23, 2015

Make Sunday Special will be taking place in Hartcliffe, Bedminster, Avonmouth and Easton this summer.

It will be the first time the events have left the city centre, with the Old City continuing to host the monthly street parties while it also heads further afield.

Stapleton Road is the first area to be officially announced, with planning groups now being created in each new district.

Mayor George Ferguson said: “I’m pleased to be moving Make Sunday Special into its next phase by taking it into Bristol’s neighbourhoods this year including one in Stapleton Road.

“Four areas are hosting their own MSS in the street throughout 2015, celebrating and showcasing their communities. Each one will be different as they’ll be organised by local groups and residents in the area, and give a taste of what makes these various areas so vibrant and special.”
