Where to watch Euro 2016 in Bristol
Hang up your bunting, get your tiny car flags out of the attic and dust off that plastic pork pie hat with the St George’s cross on it; Euro 2016 has arrived.
If you don’t have your flights booked to France don’t worry as you can still see all the action right here from Bristol in these unusual venues:
In a cinema:
is needed now More than ever
Showcase is showing all the home nation games in at Avonmeads and Cabot Circus. Tickets are free, but will have to be booked through the box office. Only 10 tickets per guest and a separate ticket needs to be purchased for each match.

In a nightclub:
Motion is showing the first England and Wales group games on Saturday, June 11, in its courtyard from 2-10pm. Tickets are £5 each and it’s over 18s only. Beer, barbecue, giant outdoor screens and music are all involved. Can’t go wrong really.

In a football stadium:
Yes, we can see that’s cricket on the screen. But Ashton Gate Sports Bar and Grill, the largest pub screen in the UK, will be showing all England’s games. Able to accommodate up to 1000 supporters, the bar will be serving Euro-themed food and drinks. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis but there is an option to reserve a table via bristolsportsbar@bristol-sport.co.uk.

At a concert venue:
The O2 Academy will be showing all of England’s games, complete with surround sound and multiple flat screens. Atmosphere, thousands of supporters, pre-match tension and classic English football songs all under one roof. Starting on the June 11 at 7pm, tickets are free but must be collected from the box office.

In a church:
Yeah, yeah, football is a religion and all that. Ebenezer Church on Filton Avenue is showing all three of England’s matches on a big screen. One of the more family- friendly locations on the list, we reckon.

In a student bar:
The official England Fan Zone is the place to be, apparently. Held this year at the Bunker, the venue will be showing all of England’s games and the semi-final and final. With indoor and outdoor projectors, free England merchandise and no entry fee, it promises to be… full of students.

Surrounded by AstroTurf:
Ever wished your pub had fake grass so you’d feel like you were actually on the pitch with the players? Me neither. However, someone probably did. Welcome to Bar 501 in Staple Hill. Grab a pint and take your shoes off.
