The awards are a national celebration of pioneering innovation and sustainable development within the UK’s energy system.

Out of more than 120 entries submitted this year by companies, communities and individuals across the UK, 29 were shortlisted for their outstanding efforts in transforming the UK energy sector.

The nominations are for awards across six categories: Net-zero energy pioneer, whole energy system innovation, net-zero energy developer, community energy initiative, public sector local leadership, and clean energy scheme.

This year is the twentieth edition hosted by Regen, an independent centre of energy expertise with a mission to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon energy system, and sponsored by Bristol City Leap, and Roadnight Taylor

Merlin Hyman, chief executive at Regen said: “Decarbonising our energy system is a major challenge but the inspiring achievements of all the nominees provide optimism that it is achievable.”

The shortlisted people and companies will go through to the final stages of judging by a panel of independent judges.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at Bristol Harbour Hotel on March 29.
