‘Shop local’ eco-delivery platform launched
A zero-emissions delivery service has launched in BS3, with plans to expand to further areas of Bristol in the coming months.
The We Are BS3 ‘one basket’ shopping initiative allows residents to browse their favourite local shops online and combine all their purchases into one order which will then be delivered by electric bike.
Shoppers can pick from some of the area’s best known stores such as Mark’s Bread, Bristol Beer Factory, Five Acre Farm and Xisto Wines, supporting local businesses while reducing their carbon footprint.
is needed now More than ever
The platform is a collaboration between the West of England Combined Authority and We Are Locals, a company ‘building local communities online’ that is committed to sustainability and supporting local businesses.

“We are thrilled to introduce We Are BS3 to the Bristol community,” said We Are Locals CEO Christian Shanahan.
“Our goal is to make it easier for residents to support local businesses and reduce their carbon footprint. By offering a convenient and sustainable shopping experience, we hope to encourage more people to shop local.”
We Are BS3 is now open for orders with the first deliveries taking place on Friday.
We Are Locals began life during Covid lockdowns as a way to provide support to local businesses by offering a platform for them to showcase their goods and services free of charge.
Their plan is to build on the anticipated success of the one basket e-delivery scheme in BS3 to expand into other wards within Bristol over 2025.
