9 winning images of Bristol

By Laura Williams  Thursday Apr 7, 2016

This weekend marks another year of  24 Hours in Bristol, the photography competition where participants are given 24 hours to take their best picture of the city.

The added twist to the competition is that when you sign up you are given a specific hour either day or night in which you have to take your photo.

The judges will choose the best three photos from each of the 24 hours as well as picking the three overall winners. There are £6,000 prizes to be won, including cash prizes but also photography themed rewards such as a top of the range tripod, photographic studio time and photography walks from Bath Photo Tour.

New for 2016 will be the £1,000 Bristol Energy prize for the best photos on the theme ‘Bristol – A city buzzing with positive energy’.

If you’re looking for inspiration, here are some entries from previous winners of the competition:

Catarina Laurenco – No Diving

Benedict Young – Immigrant Swing

Andy Coffin – Temple Meads Station

Philip Clarke – Bristol Sunrise

Helen Sheppard – Christmas Lights
