The competition is inspired by the creativity abounding within Bristol. “All art forms are welcome and the only rules are that you have to have fun!”, organisers say.

The winning entry will be selected from a shortlist of 20, by Gavin Strange, a longtime director and designer at Aardman who also goes by the alias of his multidisciplinary passion project, @jamfactory.

Tom Lack, is creative director at Boardwalk, and is thrilled to be collaborating with Aardman. “In a world full of algorithms and AI, Bristol stands out as a bastion for creativity and innovation,” he says.

“What better way to inspire the city’s next generation than with some of the world’s most original and inspiring characters!”
