‘Groundbreaking’ globe art trail to go on display on College Green
The ten stunning hand-painted globes that have been on display in different locations around Bristol are to be brought together on College Green.
They have formed part of a trail of more than 100 unique globes across the UK exploring the history, legacy and future of the transatlantic trade in enslaved Africans.
Artists who have contributed to The World Reimagined trail in Bristol include Michele Curtis, Godfried Donkor, Jasmine Thompson and Felix Braun.
is needed now More than ever
Trail organisers are bringing the globes to a single location so that visitors can experience the collective power of the striking individual art pieces before Black History Month draws to a close.
The Globes will be on display on College Green from 14 – 31 October, exploring themes ranging from Mother Africa to Still We Rise and Expanding Soul.
The aim is to inspire but also educate, with free online resources for parents to complete with children at home.
