KIT FORM to exhibit Chris Hoare’s ‘Seven Hills’ photographs of Bristol
The images in Chris Hoare’s photographic exhibition, Seven Hills, present what he terms “the lesser known side of the city of Bristol”.
Opening at the newly opened KIT FORM on May 31, the event will be a chance to see many of the images featuring in his RRB photobook of the same name.
Shaped by his own youth, growing up on Bristol’s northern fringes, Hoare’s work captures the stark contrast between the prosperity of the city centre, and the far less affluent, often overlooked experiences of those on the outer edges.
is needed now More than ever
His aesthetic is shaped by the use of traditional analogue printing processes. For the exhibition, the images on display will be accompanied by the use of found objects taken directly from the scenes that were photographed.
The launch night will include music from local artists and an exhibition raffle. Prizes include FORWARDS tickets, Bokman, Gurt Wings and Carribean Croft restaurant vouchers and limited edition photographic prints, and all proceeds will go directly to Hartcliffe Youth Club, who are currently fundraising for a new minibus.
Chris Hoare’s Photography Exhibition opens at KIT FORM on May 31 for a preview night (5pm-late) and runs until June 16 (open Wednesday-Saturday, 12-6pm).
