New art gallery opens in Clifton Arcade
A new art gallery featuring the contemporary landscape artwork of gallery owner Huw Richard Evans has opened in Clifton.
Having showcased his work in the past in the North Bristol Artists’ Trail and Hidden gallery, Huw has now opened his own gallery in the city where the long-term resident of Bristol studied and learned his trade.
Huw began to focus on commissions works during the pandemic, sending work as fair as Dubai and the US, inspiring him to make the decision to start his own gallery in Bristol.
is needed now More than ever

Huw’s artwork in his new gallery in the Clifton Arcade focuses on landscapes, including those of Bristols horizon lines
Huw said he missed having a “window” to show his work and see people engaging with the paintings.
“What I did miss, when I had my work in Hidden, was meeting people”, Huw explains.
“For me, engagement with the public is so important.”
The artist is hosting art workshops, and is finding that people enjoy his light-hearted, comedic style of teaching.
Huw studied fine art and fashion design before he became a full-time professional artist almost ten years ago.

Huw’s upbringing on the coast of Pembrokeshire inspired his love of landscape art
The gallery in the Clifton Arcade is already displaying Huw’s paintings, including landscapes of Bristol featuring beautiful horizon lines of the city.
Huw’s upbringing on the coast of Pembrokeshire inspired his love of landscape art, drawing on the beauty of light reflecting on water in many of his works.
His hopes for the future of his artistry and the Clifton gallery is to “just continue enjoying the painting” and meet members of the public with interest in his art.
