North Bristol Arts Trail 2024 to feature 110 artists and 50 homes

By Sarski Anderson  Monday Nov 4, 2024

Plans are well underway for the 2024 North Bristol Arts Trail, which returns to the streets of Ashley Down, Bishopston, Henleaze, Horfield, Montpelier, Redland and St Andrew’s on the weekend of November 23 and 24.

Ever-popular for local art fans, the event is also a fixture for many of the venues, most of which open their doors on an annual basis for the trail.

New for this year’s event is a chance for the most intrepid of visitors to cross off a number of small and multi-artist venues in a bid to win one of 20 original artworks donated by artists, including an etching by Louella Frankel, silver earrings by Sue Lutkenhouse, a painting by Nancy Chambers and a polymer clay bowl by Caroline Casswell.

Around the route, art enthusiasts can find a remarkable range of practices, from painting to ceramics, glassware to textiles, sculpture and more.

A warm welcome for all is promised, as well as the opportunity to purchase refreshments along the route.

“As artists, we welcome the chance to share our creative process as well as our finished pieces,” says Michelle Hinshelwood, who is a printmaker, and chair of North Bristol Arts.

“Come to browse, chat and find out what’s involved behind the scenes.”
