Winning photos show the ‘proper’ Bristol

A photo of Big Jeff in his element in the front row of a gig has taken first place in a photography competition which aimed to show Bristol away from the Clifton Suspension Bridge and hot air balloons.

After a public vote, Paul Blakemore’s photo took home first place in the Proper Bristol postcard competition.

Here are the rest of the top-four:

Second place: Demonstrator leading the march in Support of Hamilton House towards Bristol City Council by Giulia Spadafora

Third place: Surveillance by Rebecca Doe

Fourth place: M32 comfort break by Phoebe Flint

In total, almost 1,400 votes were received in the competition, with an award ceremony held at the People’s  Republic of Stokes Croft on Thursday and all finalists receiving 200 copies of their postcards.
