Billboard on Old Market Roundabout reveals bookshops’ top books of 2020

By Ellie Pipe  Monday Oct 5, 2020

The five shortlisted titles in the national Books Are My Bag Readers Awards have been revealed on a billboard by Old Market Roundabout.

While most commuters passed obliviously by on Monday morning, two people stood atop a scaffolding platform painstakingly painting in the covers to reveal the books in the running to receive the coveted adult fiction prize.

The annual Books Are My Bag Readers Awards, sponsored by National Book Tokens, are the only ones in the UK curated by bookshops and chosen by readers.
