CrimeFest announces full programme for 2024

By Sarski Anderson  Thursday May 2, 2024

Taking place once more at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel in May 2024, the full programme for CrimeFest, the UK’s largest annual crime fiction convention has now been announced.

Aimed at authors, editors, amateur sleuths and crime fiction diehards alike, the event has been a fixture on the calendar for many either working in – or admiring of – this flourishing literary genre.

This year, the four-day event will include an array of special guests, interviews, and invited author panels on anything from pace and tension, to plotting, Alfred Hitchcock, debut novels, historical fiction, PD James, and an exploration of ‘partners in crime’.

Guest authors include Vaseem Khan, Denise Mina, Lynda La Plante, Laura Lippman, G.T. Karber, Ajay Chowdury, Holly Jackson, Abir Mukherjee, Graham Bartlett, Cathy Ace, Alex North, Katie Ellis and Gavin Collinson.

Many returning fans of the convention will already be familiar with the popular annual Criminal Mastermind quiz, led by literary polymath, Maxim Jakubowski.

And a gala dinner on the Saturday evening will feature the CrimeFest Awards, including the coveted Specsavers Debut Crime Novel Award, the eDunnit Award for best crime ebook, the Last Laugh Award for funniest crime novel of 2023, and accolades for the best crime novel writer for children and young adults, respectively.
