Circomedia launches scholarship for masters degree
Bristol’s world renowned circus school Circomedia is launching a scholarship scheme for its masters in directing circus.
The University of Bath Spa-accredited postgraduate degree launched in September 2017 and is the first course of its kind anywhere in the world.
Students work with professionals and stay up-to-date with the most recent developments within the industry; foster creative practices for directing circus-based performance work; and explore circus direction through a variety of research methods.
is needed now More than ever
Thanks to a grant from Leverhulme Arts Scholarships, Circomedia can now offer one successful applicant – with strong links to the South West who is judged to be in financial need – a fully funded place on this unique qualification, plus £1000 to cover travel costs.
The grant will pay the course fees for one MA student per year for the next three academic years, starting in September 2019.
A Circomedia spokesperson said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Leverhulme Trust for their generous contribution and are proud to be able to support applicants who might otherwise be unable to consider such a course.”
For more information about the MA, email Jade Trendall via jadet@circomedia.com or visit www.bathspa.ac.uk/courses/pg-directing-circus. Email Jade to book your place on an open event for the MA on Friday, March 29.
