Doorstep Circus comes to Knowle West
The Doorstep Circus wowed audiences both at doorsteps across Knowle West and at a special show at Filwood Community Centre.
Young performers drawn from the local area were taught circus skills by professional teachers and then performed short choreographies which family and neighbours could watch from their doorsteps.
The final performance showcasing their newly-learned acro-balance choreography was at the community centre.
is needed now More than ever
Doorstep Circus is a project from Bristol Circus City, the UK’s largest programme of contemporary circus.
Project lead Maddie McGowan said the idea of Doorstep Circus is about not performing in conventional spaces.
Maddie told Bristol24/7: “This has been about sparking joy to little corners of residential streets and parks.
“It’s about the idea that we can perform for a small audience or a household and it can be really special.”
