NoFit State Circus’ ‘SABOTAGE’ is back in Bristol
For nearly four decades, Cardiff-based NoFit State have been making bold and boundary-pushing contemporary circus, alongside community projects in many of the places they have created, rehearsed and performed shows.
Initially set up by a group of five friends, they describe themselves as “a community bound by a common passion and a collective journey”.
So far, in 2024 they are fresh from a collaboration with Welsh National Opera’s new production of Benjamin Britten’s Death in Venice, recently performed at Bristol Hippodrome, and are currently at the big top in St Pauls, developing their brand new high-impact, high-skill outdoor circus show, BAMBOO.

Directed by Mish Weaver, in collaboration with Orit Azaz and Imagineer Productions, the production will feature “amazing feats of strength and agility on an improbable bamboo playground”.
Set to tour in summer 2024, the show will be previewed for local residents in St Pauls, where the NoFit State silver spaceship Big Top is already in situ.

The company is also bringing its acclaimed show SABOTAGE back to Bristol in May, for a limited run before it goes on tour, first to Wales and Brighton, and subsequently on to Europe.
An impressively large-scale production, directed by Firenza Guidi, with original live music, elegant design and stunning feats of physical prowess and endurance, the show wowed audiences last year.
