The Prospect Building is putting in the last details ahead of its launch on Saturday.
A Man About a Dog (AMAAD), the group behind the venue on Feeder Road, have been hosting numerous well-known events since 2011.
Their events have occupied venues such as Printworks, The Southbank Centre and all the way to 19th Century Fort on the Albanian Riviera.

With festivals such as Junction 2 and ION under their belts, they know how to cater to a crowd.

The new must-see event space, is promising to be a cultural destination, joining up local businesses and artists to host events including music, circus (for which a resident company will soon be revealed), art, theatre and food festivals.
Its set of unique mix of spaces, from the DJ room, to the gravelled laid outdoors lends itself to being an adaptable home for all of Bristol’s offerings.

The Propsect Building is located at 45 Feeder Road in St Philip’s
The Prospect Building spans 25,000 sq. ft. and features two distinct performance spaces.
Room One boasts a cutting-edge sound system developed in collaboration with L-Acoustics, featuring K2 and KARA II speakers, which will contain the noise and prevent a clash of sounds.
Alongside immersive laser mapping and cutting-edge visual technology, elevating the overall experience for both artists and audiences.
Room Two offers an intimate setting with 6-point surround sound.
The space feels intimate, which Will Harold, director and founder of AMAAD, is keen to emphasise.
Will said that have tried to “lean into the architectural building. It’s a great space. I think, just like actually trying to bring that to life and animate it, rather than everything else, makes sense.”

The lights hang below the platforms open to the public
Will said: “We’ve got these stage platforms either side, which are for the public. So we’ve got two or three tiers so the public can get up all the way around, and always also all right behind the DJ, all the way around.
“Then with a stage full of people and people all around you, you’ll get a pretty, pretty good, intense atmosphere in here.
“We need that big dance platforms which are movable, which will kind of like go into the back corners of the room.
“So really trying to create this kind of amphitheatre quality and vibe.
“We also wanted to make sure it is as accessible as possible, with ramps and accessible bars, to create sort of a great experience for everybody.”

The venue was previously Propyard, before allegations of staff, suppliers and artists going unpaid and a sudden closure left it to gather dust.
The story goes that while in Albania a quiet conversation with someone who was working at Propyard mentioned the challenges they were facing, they got talking and then that turned into a business opportunity.

State of the art equipment have been installed since their takeover in February
Overmono, the Welsh electronic duo Tom and Ed Russell will be kickstarting the 2024 music series, with the sold out Overmono: Pure Devotion on Saturday.
“The building responds to having a lot of people in it and how that feels,” said Will.
“I think that’s always really interesting to see how it comes together.”
